Recently have been plauged by the merge monster, that is when you do all you can do to help the other vehicle onto the road way (except do it for them) and yet they stil can't get it,,Thus the merge monster comes out in me!!!! Where does it say that I am responsible for there merge into the flow of traffic?? Courtesy you say/ throw it out the window( Im not talking about big trucks) I give them e'thng I can but I'm talking about 4-wheelers. Most look at you like you are responsible for their inability to drive. I have found it is just a whole lot easier to far lane it around merging traffic. What about the rest, got any suggestions or ideas> comments???

Here in Ontario, the one merging is responsible to make the merge safely, and there is no obligation on the vehicle already in the through lane to help out. My thought is that if some of these dumb-##### are too stupid to figure out that they need to speed up and blend into the flow, then let them sit on the shoulder for the whole day looking for an opening! :biggrin_25513:
    Whew, that feels better!

Believe it or not the law here in Missouri is whoever is on the INTERSTATE has to move left! OH Yeah I couldn't believe it either.
BUT In GA don't let a GSP see you move over especially on I75 north of Marietta,GA! They'll ticket you in a heartbeat!

If I can get over, I do.
If it's a truck or something having a tough time, I'll try and make a spot.

if it's a car, well, they can accelerate, i can't.

I'm amazed at the number of "drivers' (car) who drive all the way down the ramp, get to the end and realize "dang, there's a big old truck next to me, what should I do?"

    floors me, every time.

That is exactly why I maintain my speed no matter what they are doing. It is NOT my responsibility to let them on the highway... Missouri or not. If they're too #### stupid to use the pedal on the right instead of the one on the left, they can ride down the shoulder until they get a clue.

A law probably written by some Prius-driving tree hugger who suffers from CFD.

I try to move over sometimes when I can if there isnt much traffic but sometimes you cant and I refuse to slam on my brakes when some idiot 4-wheeler is affraid to ease down on that accelerator pedal and have plenty of time to pass me up on the ramp. Its just utterly amazing how many cars seem to take longer than a big-rig does to get up to speed and merge onto the freeway.....

I had an instance in LA where some idiot in a Tahoe thought I was just sposed to move the hell out of his way while he was merging onto a freeway during rush hour traffic when there wasnt anywhere to go. He was practially driving down the emergency lane a short ways after the on ramp ended, pulled up beside me on the right, flipped me off, slowed down real quick, went around the back of me, pulled up beside me on the left, everyone in his car flipped me off and the next thing i saw was a soda-pop bottle come flyin at me.
