No more flashing!

NEVER THE HIGH BEAMS, NEVER. High beams are telling the driver do not come over there something in your way. But I bet you did not know that. Learn what your doing before worrying about what I am or am not doing. .

Before you flash a truck to come over is more that your past my bumper. You should also have a comfortable following distance between you before you flash them over. Most driver flash me over way before the distance is correct.

Never High Beams. turning 4 ways or on off with the tails is good, I normally flash thanks regardless of the driver flashing me over unless he uses his high beams. High Beams Mean no flash back because a moron is to lazy to flash his headlamps.

He's right, with time and miles you will learn. At 3 years your still a new driver, your just at the point where you think you know.

High Beams are never ok, there just rude. Also create a unsafe situation.

3 years in a big truck, verifiable experience. I've been driving since I was 8.

Anyway, have fun flashing your low beams in bright sunlight, you won't get a response from me on the road since I cannot see those dim lights. It also does nothing if you have daytime running lamps. The point is to be able to see the flash in the daylight without having to stare at you in the mirror instead of watching the road ahead.

And no, he's not right. He's saying never flash at all, screw everyone else.

 

I'm sure you have been driving since you were eight, by the way who cares about that. If they cant tell where you are in there mirror in the day time they should be driving. And it does not change the meaning. Highbeams are telling them do not come over somethings in your way. The meaning does not change . You can say no all you want by it never means yes. My low beams are plainly visible in the day time, even if you have day time running lamps, you still have low beam head lamps.

I have not been driving since I was 8. However I have been driving long enough to have 3 million plus accident free miles.

No, just because your truck works that way does not mean all trucks work that way. There are several models that turning the headlights on does nothing since they're already on.

The CB tells someone not to come over because something's in the way. Speaking of lazy, how about picking up your mic?

Oh yeah, and with all of the newer drivers on the road who've never heard of that high beam rule, why would someone with your experience ever risk flashing your high beams at another truck?

 

Because not everyone has or uses CB radios.

 

Yeah, I noticed. Saw two trucks last week without radios. One was a day cab flatbed with his load of sandbags hanging off the sides of the trailer, straps flapping loosely in the wind, and a bunch of drivers yelling at him on the radio to stop before he killed someone. He never did.

The other was a Prime truck with front wheel about to come clean off. Same deal.

So, you gonna answer the question? Are you really gonna flash your high beams at guys like that to tell them something's in the way when you know they're just gonna think you're flashing them over? Or did you never realize that?

 

One thing about this "high-beam" rule...... How is it that it means not to come over? If there was a hazard, wouldnt that mean you yourself was about to hit it?
