It has been decades since I've pulled a flat. This still makes my eye twich! The other side is worse, hanging at least a foot below the rail.![]()

Looked at that pic for a while now. Thing is, all of the chains are tight. I think he did that to prevent it sliding. Still needs some chains on bottom layer though.cke, PoleCrusher and Farmtractor9900 Thank this.

Yeah, I got lazy.

cke, PoleCrusher and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
Lol, that was you huh. I honestly don't think it is bad, once I caught on to what you where trying to do. Honestly you could take 2 straps and slip one on the front and one on the back on the bottom row and you would be in alot better position, but I can't see the rest of it. Maybe you already did that.. Jmo though.
Edit: I just wanted to add something to this. I ran 13 axle beam and drop side for about 5 years and got out of it because of all the waiting was killing me and I really started to despise running the east coast. I then switched to flatbed and just bought a brand new decked out Mac 48 flat. I pick it up in 2 weeks. Never ran step deck. I've had loads that I wayyyyy oversecured and when I stopped, every piece of securement was loose and I mean everything. Same on flat. I think this is a journey and a constant learning experience. I learn something quite often. I watch others and also learn by failure. So don't think I'm trying to put others down, just because it might not be what I would have done.Last edited: Feb 17, 2021

No worries I wasn't offended.
Gearjammin' Penguin, cke and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
I didn't think you were. Just wanted to say something. Alot of times forums are filled with so much negativity. So many folks feel that their way is the only correct way and I didn't want others to think that. I like the free exchange of ideas and you take the good with the bad.Lostkeys, Hammer166, Gearjammin' Penguin and 3 others Thank this.

Should be good right? From Australia I believe. Found it on Facebook

I can’t criticize that too bad. Mine looked a bit like that when I first started hauling shingles long ago.PPLC, PoleCrusher, cke and 1 other person Thank this.
