I've been searching for some local companies and have found nothing, I'm considering going to Swift to get my recent year experience so i can move on or maybe stay longer if i like it. I have also considered Star Transportation out of Nashville TN.

I have 1 year experience but havent been in a truck since January 07. I realize i will have to start over again like i'm right out of school and i'm ok with that. My record is clean so finding a job shouldnt be that difficult. I havent made any money in 2 years so the pay i get really doesnt effect my decision. I dont want to work for free but i will work cheaper just to have insurance for my family and make things easier on my wife who has paid the bills for 2 years.

Any suggestions you fine folks have on different companies will be greatly appreciated. I live about 45 miles east of Bowling Green, Ky. It seems i am in a lot of companies hiring areas.

    Thx -BigDan :biggrin_255:

Well not completely accurate...you won't be completely starting over, should be out with a trainer for a limited time to get your response time back, and get familiar with the company way of doing things...might try ROEHL (how they get the pronunciation of "rail" out of the spelling is beyond me) they are advertising big time on satelite radio so there is one idea!

    Good luck to you BigDan..

Thx for the replies, i have contacted Roehl and from Star Transportations website my experience wont qualify me for them. I'm gonna call Moorman Farms and see if they can help me out. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

    Thx -BigDan

If those numbers after your name- are your age, consider schooling !! If I was 28 again, I'd stay out of this crapola. Just my thoughts, Best Of Luck !!

I called Moorman farms and the only problem was i would have to drive from E-Town every Friday when i got in. Thats a long drive to make every week to get home in my personal vehicle.

Yes i'm 28 but i paid a few thousand dollars for my cdl's and driving a truck is what i have wanted to do since kindergarten. I know its a rocky road but i wanna continue to do something i love doing.

    Thx-BigDan

bigdan! I hear what your saying. I live in non trucking world of Florida. Just not a lot of loads coming and going. With one company who is hiring covenant. Not so good, But I'm taking it.If you do live in kentucky, I may be wrong. But you many trucking companies around you. There is two in Missouri, one in Tenn. Two In North carolina. Many many more that are talked about hear on this fourm. Trust me you got to do your on leg work. Then If any question do come up, Ask.These guys & gals while help you. They are not going to do it for you. Just look around you at the Interstate around you.I-71, I-65,I-64. With the economy bad in standing. There is not alot of hiring going on. My self I'm going with the first one hiring. Then go to plan B. Unless you have 2 or more years of insterstate driving CMV in the last 3 years. We got to take what is there for the taking. WE got to crawl before we run with the big dogs. Don't give up keep calling.Every day,Everybody until get a yes. Good luck!! later.

What prevented you from driving since January 2007? That may make a difference in which companies to try?
