You can try to download trucking companies and weed through them. Just make sure you use trucking companies and NOT trucking jobs. If you're in an area where there's no trucking then you're kind of stuck on who you can sign on with. You could also try the local tanker companies that haul gasoline in your area but you'll start at the bottom but there is a chance to move up. In fact with tankers I think there's a better chance to move into a good job than just hauling general freight. That goes for any specialized training that's required for the job.
Cant think of anywhere else

I spent a lot of time on the phone today with different companies. Millis, Western Express and Swift to name a few. Millis and Swift aren't hiring in my area. CRT is hiring students only, not taking anyone with experience. Western Express is an option right now, i may or may not have to go out with a trainer, have to wait for my app to clear once i get it filled out. The insurance is kinda high, the pay stinks but i guess its the price i'll have to pay. I'm gonna continue looking but Western Express is likely going to be my choice.

I didn't drive for some family health problems, if a company looks down on me for that i don't want to be associated with them anyway. All of that is behind me now and i'm just trying to get both feet in the door again
Thx-BigDan -
Western Express wont take me because my BMI is 9 points too high unless i have a sleep study completed before i go. No job means no insurance and i don't have $4k to have a study done.

Might try Big G express out of Shelbyville,TN. Venture Logistics out of Indy run back and forth that way all the time. MTS Martin Transportation ( Not Marten Blue Bird). Just a couple to check out.

Thx!! I will check those companies out and see what i can find. I'm not wanting to start until the first of the year so i still have some time to find a "decent" company. I appreciate all the help and comments.Last edited: Nov 24, 2009

stay away from here! these people are worthless, and lie like a rug. They have been on a driver firing vendetta for the past 3 months! Their csa score is in the toilet, so they will fire anyone for anything; no matter how minor. Equipment is not well maintained and is always broken. Pay scale is from the "dark ages" and everyone is unhappy because of missing hours, breakdown pay, not enough work. They would rob their own mother if they saw any money in it. Fair warning/ ask their drivers.

Wow, that thread is from 2009. Glad you brought it back to life. Nobody's said anything bad about Swift since then and it's about time we got the bashing started up again!
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.
