Well once again being as we bounced around so many different places we really dodged the bad bad weather this year. I mean I'm not saying we didn't run in any bad weather at all it just doesn't seem like we ran in very much of it. And as far as the cold snap well heck we went to The Dakotas during the worst cold snap of the winter so it was pretty cold I'd rather running a bunch of snow then deal with that miserable cold for sure.

I haven't pulled flatbeds since 2002. And then it was only on once in awhile basis. I have never used ratchet binders. All I ever Had available and was taught to use was snap down binders and straps with the movable winches on the side rail or the rug rail whatever you want to call it underneath there. And I had the the winches that you have the two bolts on that you had to put on and take off of there that was kind of a pain in the neck. That was back in the nineties though. So I've actually never had the ones that are permanent that slide back and forth or what have you.

Yeah see I wonder how widespread those lighter tarps are being used. I was under the impression that they were a fairly newer thing in the industry. I believe my buddy told me they were called parachute tarps or made out of some sort of parachute material Maybe I'm just kind of quoting a foggy memory of the conversation. Those lighter tarps would definitely be the way to go there ain't no doubt.

I don't consider information useless normally. And we're always interested in what you have to say dang it. I like talking with you about dump trailer truck and come on. There ain't no job in the world like driving a big Hood Pete pulling a 40-foot frameless dump or 39 foot whichever you want to call it. Cuz I'm telling you driving a big Hood Pete with a dump trailer on there just ain't no styling and profiling like that I'm I'm here to tell you.

They were being used for quite sometime, the only drawback was if I had a load of pipe that had to be trapped, I had to use all three tarps. We would get 2 lumber tarps and 1 steel at Builders. I smartened and hid the steel tarp somewhere so I could get another one from the yard, that way I could only use just the 2. My buddy works for P & S and they have those huge lumber tarps as well. It seems many companies are evolving back the big ones now that 53 foot flatbeds are starting to be the norm, and they are a pain to back into a spot
