I locked myself out of a Freightliner. Saw another guy at the truckstop sitting in a Freightliner, so asked him if I can borrow his key. He laughed and handed the key to me. I unlocked my door and gave the key back to him. He couldn't believe it worked.

Same with all of our old fleet FL's at my old job. Comforting, isn't it?

Freightliners used the 70’s-80’s style GM keys. You could probably find yourself an old Vette or Trans Am and drive off with it back in the day.

Where are you going to store it? I bought a hide a key magnetic box, and have a spare key in it attached to the frame. It's faster and cheaper...

I drove a KW for a little while. If I pushed the lock down and shut the door while holding the outside latch out, it darn sure would lock. I always had a key with my house and car keys in my pocket and the other pretty much stayed in the ignition.

If you drive a cascadia the keys are the same size as a dodge. I get my spare one made it walmart for $1.50 a piece. I have one on a lanyard, one in a zippered part of my jacket, one zip tied by my batteries. My husband has one in his wallet & one that stays in this jacket.

I did that the very first week I got mine. I was at Elk Mountain, Wy at the rest area. Luckily there was a driver parked next to me w/ the same year & model truck. It took about 5 minutes since my locks weren't worn in. After that I was paranoid and now I have lost of spares
