I saw a W/E flat parked at the Pilot locally. I stopped and talked to the driver. He said he has been there 6 months.
He's never been to the North East.

Flats dont run northeast (usually). Central united states to west coast mostly. If you haul shingles, CHECK THAT LOAD FREQUENTLY!
-
Probably what that guy was hauling.
Hopefully they don't haul sheetrock! -
LOL sheet rock is 50% or so of their loads. Your on flat I can gaurantee you will get sheetrock with a bad tarp to boot!
-
I would guess they would cover the load with visqueen first. I worked for a USG subsidiary. Whe it was the rainy season the flat bed companies that had holes in their tarps covered them with plastic first.
If I had a load come in wet it went back.
I just read an ad from W/E online. It says my paycheck is deposited on a Comdata card?
Do they do direct deposit? -
All companies will Direct Deposit (actually they prefer this). Most will put monies on the comdata card, usually it is a percentage that you declare. Your first 2 paychecks are usually through the mail. LOL good luck getting paid, hopefully they dont sc##w you like they did me.
My avatar was their columbia (10 speed) in my door yard after my wife and i spent a day trying to clean it up. -
Went to Western today. All of their trainers are busy right now. They have no trucks available. After finishing with a trainer you get what is available. If a new truck pops up? It's yours.
And yes they will take newbies on flat. Training would be in Birmingham. -
Im in MD and im trying to get on with western express. I was emailed my paperwork the other day filled it out and faxed it. I tried to call Rex or Wendy yesterday but they did not answer... Im going to try again today..Since I live in MD do u think I would be able to get thru the house every week? I know they do alot of east coast and NE. Any current or former drivers pls send me ur email address so we can chat. Thanks

Not responding suggests that wanting to be off on weekly basis makes you undesirable. You want results, stop asking / calling frequently. Mailed info has better chance of results as signed and faxed documents are not seen as "binding". Call them only once per week, but not more than that. Also there is no reason to call you back if you have a time constraint.

I sent an email application on Monday. I haven't heard from them yet. I will call next week allowing for the holiday.
