I'm looking to find a high quality tanker outfit somewhere in the NW USA. I prefer not to be anywhere near the coast. I am open for anywhere from the Cascades over to North Dakota and from the Canadian border to northern Arizona.
My dream job would be hauling HazMat or fuel from the middle of nowhere to the middle of nowhere. I am open to food-grade, but have no knowledge or experience in it.
I am already working in the area but I'm kept so busy I have little time to research companies. I have 3 years recent experience hauling HazMat liquid tankers. I have the endorsements plus TWIC, passport. My record is clean.
If you could work for any company which one would you consider as one of the very top of the industry. I need to find a place where I can work for 5-15 years. Which companies should I look at first?
I was hoping L.W. Miller of Logan, UT would be the place, but it looks like their tanker work is based in North Salt Lake City, UT. I moved out west to avoid big dog-eat-dog cities like SLC. Salt Lake City is just Atlanta with more pickups and roof-racks. In case of a tie I prefer cold locations.
What are the high quality tanker companies in the Northwest USA?

Tank farms are probably gonna be near the big cities or the ports......Just the way fuel hauling works.
Dave1837, Mooseontheloose and tscottme Thank this. -
I really appreciate the reply. I occasionally drive near Kemmerer, WY (middle of nowhere) there is a tank farm there with several companies that deliver to convenience stores. An acquaintance worked for a fuel hauler out of Pocatello, ID delivering to a gold/copper mine. I lost contact with him and don't know how to find the fuel haulers to area mines.

Look into hauling bulk cryogenics. Liquid Oxygen, Nitrogen, CO2. It’s probably the cleanest hazmat tanker work there is. The tanks are baffled Mostly daycab work. Layovers are in decent hotels. Very highly compensated. Your experience would be highly sought.

Find out who hauls out of the Sinclair refineries in Sinclair and Casper, WY - and although it's a little bit out of the area you mentioned, the Holly / Navajo refinery in Artesia, NM. I know that Groendyke has a terminal in Artesia, and so does Pilot Flying J.
You might also consider crude oil gathering in the Bakken or DJ basins.tscottme and Mooseontheloose Thank this. -
Great ideas, thanks. I've delivered to Holly in Artesia and love how small and isolated the town is.snowman1980 and RockinChair Thank this.

On a lot of tanker jobs you might not see or talk to another living soul for days on end. One of our night fuel drivers comes to work after I go home and he's usually finished and off duty before I get back in the morning. I talk to him on the phone once in awhile. He gets his dispatch by phone from the customer.
I asked him last year to send in a picture of himself so none of us will forget what he looks like. He's been here over twenty years and you couldn't blast him off that tanker with dynamite.snowman1980, Speed_Drums and tscottme Thank this. -
Hausmann Motorsports in ND hauls bottles all around.
