You so called experienced drivers are talking about doing road races in rainy weather and blinding other drivers. If it happens to you, deal with it, but to do something dangerous deliberately and to pump up your "old timer" chest on some forum about it, is a discredit to yourselves.

This is just testimony as to why complacent experienced drivers are the worse drivers.

I used to have this problem alot with my 62mph freightliner. I found that if I wave to him and make eye contact it usually puts the guy in a more personable mood and I get through it a little faster.

About like a 4 wheeler who says trucks are "racing " because they run side by side . Actually , it is a 4 wheeler because he can't find a job .

Ive actullay thought about the speed up when you go to pass thing alot before , not in the rain , but have you ever noticed how many 4wheelers do the same thing? i dont think the majority are tryin to c block ya or anything, my theory is that most people have trouble setting their own pace... dont know if that was clear or not.......... hmmm Example.. Have you ever gone to pass get right past the midway point of their vehicle, then they speed up with you, keep pace for awhile relize how much faster their goin than they want to be and suddinly they let out , go back to original speed ... seen this in 4wheelers and big trucks... i dont even think they know their doin it... last example then i done...... have you ever ridden in a car, truck, van, whatever and the driver (not you) has that ever so annoying habit of gettin in the gas, lettin out, back in it, let out all the while driving on a three lane highway with absolutly no one around, then a car comes by ... now their rock steady with the gas and paceing them for awhile, then they just slow down and go back to the crazyness???????? just a theory i have and discused many times before.....

Actually a lot of drivers do it unconsciously. It's just some sort of mental thing. My father would do it and I'd look at him and say "Hey Pop back off" and the look in his eyes was "what?"! Didn't even know he was doing it. I've got a sister in law who is scared to freaking death of trucks and she evens does the speed up thing when hey pass her on the left! Go figure!

Me, I have the cruise set and don't worry about it unless we're in hilly country and then it can turn into "races".
