So far it's alot better than I expected after rreading some of the horror stories on here. My trainer and I get along pretty good haven't had any problems yet I started orentation on wednesday and got done with it on friday and hooked up with my trainer on Friday afternoon in Fontana at the terminal there. Then from there we went to denver then back to fontana then up here. So it's been non-stop since then but, it's a good thing able to knock down some of my hours because if you don't have any experience you have to do 300 hours of training with a trainer.
Equipment wise they seem to be pretty good trucks only thing that sucks about them is that they are governed at 65 so WILL be getting passed by alot of other trucks that aren't.
For my schooling I went to a truck school in modesto,ca didn't go through the school they have. Which made it alittle harder on me because my school just taught you just how to get your CDL it's alot different pulling 53' trailers then 28' or 32' trailers. But, that's why they put you with a trainer to help you out my trainer has been awesome with that no yelling or getting mad when I mess up all he says is you'll figure it out everyone started the same way.
But, Like I said I just started not a seasoned vet. at this stuff it's a place to your exprience and you never know you might like the company and want to stay with it for awhile. -
I did apply to Werner. I am thinking where I live is great for home time. If I get on here, fine. My GF maybe going to the same school I am going to. We might end up teaming.
From what I have seen most companies love teams. -
Thanks for the input - we are thinking about Werner.

After reading all 29pg of this post. So far I like what I hear about them.
But i need to ask about the 300hours.
Are those hours only when You are driveing or do they count the whole time.
You are on the road with your trainner?
Sorry about My gramer and spelling I like i said i read all the post start to end.
From what I know right now im going to there indy termnal on the 4 of the newyear. -
I'm not sure on the 300 hours. The training pay is kind of low. It goes $325 to $350 at some point. My recruiter said if I did it all straight with no hometime I can get a $500 bonus.
I need to get a time set really soon. If I am doing the training straight through I am going to try and start after the first. Christmas is Christmas, New Years eve is my GF's birthday. -
300 hours driving, takes about 6-8 weeks.rentamedic Thanks this.

And that is if you run it straight through. Variables would be wanting to go home for a short period in the middle ( at least they used to let you do that) being able to get a trainer for the duration that is not a slob, or sob. More than likely would be on a dedicated account, as this keeps new hires lined up with trainers and helps take care of the account with 2 log books. This would have you off on the weekends.

are those borth are hours or just mine?
thank you -
Just yours...
