I talked to ERB/KDac twice, nice people, not really interested in hiring guys from Alberta, lots of deductions for O/Os, they’re main lanes are the NE and East Coast, which isn’t my thing.
Local is a waste of time, literally less than 1/mi of 35/hr your truck and fuel lol. 6 14 hour days, 36 off is the norm now I guess.
Landstar it is.

Suprised to here some of those Mullen outfits are crappy. Mullen was a pretty big name in the oilfield here. Heard it from a few people that Mullen had the monopoly on freight up to the oilsands during the last boom.

They sort of did, they own CANEDA, Payne, Highway 9, Mullen Transport (Van) and sort of own TransPro.
Unfortunately like any large company, they have become to big to care, and their corporate will shall be imposed! Their answer to everything, Is more policy, procedures, safety and office staff to oversee it. They are also super cheap, they prob pay the lowest for O/Os over ever seen; and have the most demanding schedules.Last edited: Mar 27, 2021
'88K100 Thanks this. -
Trans pro is actually a Kriska company. Kriska and Mullen had some kind of joint agreement that bought millcreek. Though I do believe Canada uses transpro's yard as a drop yard.BigHossVolvo Thanks this.

Yea, according to Mullen they own it, and it’s CANEDAs terminal in Toronto. That’s what they tell ABL contractors anyway. Never met a TransPro driver that could speak English, so couldn’t ask them lol.

Recruiting is done through Kriska. Can't say I have talked to ant trans pro drivers but I have spoken to some of the office staff and they all speak English.BigHossVolvo Thanks this.

Yes Mullen rules suck.
Brother in law started doing picker truck for them years ago.
Every day they wanted him to report for work at 7 am. Then if there wasn’t any work, sit around the coffee room and wait until something came up. If not, he couldn’t go home until 3 pm. All for free. He only got paid (percentage) if they actually had a job for him to do.'88K100 and BigHossVolvo Thank this.
