Hello guys, I drive a 2000 Kenworth C500 winch tractor with a C15 Cat 18, speed Eaton tranny, and a 2 speed spicer A box. The company i drive for has put the clamp done on are rigs and have governed all are trucks at 95 Km/h (55 m/h) i was wondering if there was a way I could get rid of this governer or reprogram my truck to do decent highway speed.

Yeah , any Cat shop can do it . But it will show up the next time the truck is serviced and that will probably be the end of your job .

I don't get it, We all know that the company might not like it etc but if the author wants to know how to trick the system then tell the author and let them deal with it themselves.

I know there are tricks out there to get around the computers and such but people keep so danged tight lipped about it.

c500 winch truck very heavy specs low gears more than likely walking beam sup. I don't see any real big speed gains possible and not really a truck I would want to run fast even empty, been there done that with a DM SX 58k rears on beam even if the truck would run 65 you couldn't stay in the seat but any desiel shop with cat software should be able to set the road speed up

I agree 100%. It's not just here though every forum is that way. If I ask "what's the easiest way to set my truck on fire?" you'll get 100 replys and 99 of them will be someone telling you why you shouldn't do it and one guy will actually answer your question.

Other than having someone with Caterpillar ET raise the limit in the ECM you could try this http://www.fastertruck.com/. I have no idea if it works just what I found when searching.

Stop in at CAT and ask them about the driver rewards program. They might not help you because you're not the owner. That program won't show up unless they really know what their looking for.

If your company has not set a password in the ECM just go to any CAT dealer and have the road speed limit increased to what ever you want.
