My fault Wayne! I was just tickled by that little Freightliner M2! That's what made me reconsider my potential choice in trucks. I know the Mercedes motor can pull, (my last crappy job had garbage trucks with those motors) but it's a foreign motor with bad quality) but it's #### and apparently light, manuverable trucks are better (depending on what you're hauling I guess) and cheaper if you get the right one.

    Truck Metal, you takin notes?!

But...I just found out it may not be so easy to get my own authority, truck WITH ins., find a broker and run - considering my background.

I've driven both Volvos with Cummins and Volvo engines. The Volvo engines were underpowered and the egr valves were always crapping out. I've heard ISX egrs valves are prone to do the same but having about 750,000 miles behind me with ISX's I never had an egr go out. I had a Volvo I put 450,000 miles on and replaced them twice on that motor. The Volvo got about 5.8 mpg the Cummins were getting 6.3 or better. You couldn't give me a Volvo engine they are garbage.

My experience with Arrow Truck Sales:

In Nov 2009 my husband and I started a deal with Shawn # the Dallas Arrow. We were approved to purchase a 2007 Volvo 780 within 4 hours. Awesome, he said we couldn't negotiate price but we could have a fridge installed, an invertor 2000watts (received 2500), and a load lock rack. The truck was supposed to be DOT certified and road ready to go.

He agreed to have the truck detailed and delivered to our new company JCT in Tulsa before we arrived to orientation. It arrived the day after, after I freaked out-shop needed time to do their thing, base plates, etc..

The truck was not even vacuumed, it had Wendy's trash and mountain dew bottles in it. These are the items the shop found wrong with the truck:
    1. broken bolt in exhaust manifold
    2. Several airleaks- DOT Certified? Where did that mechanic get his certification?
    3. No load lock rack-we were okay with that as he couldn't find one.
    4. Steering pin & bushings on both sides. Truck would pop like a cherry bomb exploding whenever you turned right or left-try to convince me they didn't hear that? BS
    5. The fridge is not made for a truck, it's the same one I bought for my son's dorm one and is installed by a stereo guy from Dalworth.
    6. No Federal Inspection-probably our responsibility anyway-no gruff with that.
    7. I had a friend check truck prior to leaving Dallas yd-replace window coverings(ripped) and broken vent-told they were fixed, they weren't-are now.
    8. The truck was supposed to be 500hp Cummings. It showed up 400 hp and governed to 62 mph!!!
    9. When we asked Shawn about repairs-he said let JCT fix it. Cost $3828.59 that included two inspections at our cost. In the end Arrow only reimbursed $3171.00 but we haven't seen the check yet-work completed on Jan 12-so in reality they haven't reimbursed Jack Squat.

We lost a week waiting for initial repairs-includes 3 days we would have lost anyway for orientation. Hotel bills. When we finally get on road the invertor blows the first night, everything in fridge spoils.

We got a load back to Dallas to get hp,remove governor, invertor, and install rubber fairings. We leave next day and get back on road, invertor was replaced but overloaded sitting in their parking lot-I gave up decided to have professional look at it. They installed rubber fairings, replaced window coverings, broken hood latch, and upped the hp. The truck was still governed at 62mph and the invertor still sucked.

At JCT they installed a new air tank-one of the many air leaks-but while making our 2nd delivery the air dryer goes out. Mobile road repair and trip back to Dallas.

I do not hold Shawn responsible for the condition of the truck and in fact he has been extremely professional and easy to work with. But the guys who hold the purse strings need to attend a prayer meeting instead of a sales meeting and come to Jesus.

By this time Arrow no longer wants to see us, it is still within the 30 day warranty but they have begun to act like it's our fault they sold us a Piece of Crap. As for the difference in the repair invoice Shawn did try to make it right and we only had to eat approximately $70.

Everything that originally went wrong with the exception of the invertor has now been fixed. New things have popped up now, windshield cracked from the bottom to midway-no rock chips anywhere-ABS (Brakes) and TRC (Traction Control)-these have actually been coming on intermitently from day 1-gearbox grinds when switching gears from fourth to fifth-we found out this truck was previously owned by Swift had we known that students had been trained in here we would never have bought it. Everyday a new terror arrives to confront us, so who knows what will happen tomorrow. But since they are so sick of hearing us complain I suppose we will be paying out of pocket to fix whatever happens next and we are still within our "30 day-No questions asked-warranty".

All I can say is if you buy from Arrow take it somewhere else first, like a dealer, and get the truck mega checked out.

WOW 180 degrees from my experience. Guess it best to visit the dealer and check the truck out your self instead ordering one over the phone would been better.

I bought a 2002 378 Pete from Arrow in Atlanta and I still impressed with the service I got. Always ready to answer questions. Heck they gave me a discount with out me asking....
