What's the point?
If you're looking to get into trucking... just pick a company and put in your application.
If you're not looking to get into trucking... well, then you need to get a hobby or something.
P.S. I can't wait until Dec 7th.
15 companies, which one is the overall best in your opinion!

I read your post last night but decided to wait until morning to reply.
I reread all of the 192 posts I've gotten about the polls (I also had an earlier one with only 5 companies listed) and found 16 absolutely negative comments about the polls. Now that doesn't seem like much (less than 10%), but I have to figure in that there were really more than 16 but many just didn't reply and ignored the threads altogether.
So, I apologize for being so aggressive and flippant.
Now that some time has passed since I first read your post, I really can't take issue with it except for one thing: I am very serious about doing what is required to become a trucker. And I think I want to do it for all the right reasons.
Good luck to you!

I don't mean to be negative... I apologize-- I shouldn't have posted what I posted.
But, I was serious when I suggested that you just go for it. What I meant was that, if you read this forum for 10 minutes, you'll find out that there are happy drivers and disgruntled drivers with almost any company you want to talk about.
IMO (which isn't worth any more than anyone else's), your job will be what you make of it. I have heard that from many experienced drivers. I have also heard from guys who wouldn't be happy at God's Trucking Company!!!
Do some research (your polls qualify as research too... don't get me wrong) and make an educated decision and go for it.
When you do make a decision, keep us updated on your progress.
Good luck to you!
P.S. The trucking company I am going with (orientation Dec 29th) isn't on your list for this poll... As a new driver (in need of CDL training) in this economy, I didn't have many options to choose from. I picked the company that I could get on with that best fit MY needs. I will start my career there, and we'll see where I go from there. Everybody is different... each driver has to pick the company that he feels is best for him/her, go in with a good attitude, and try to make the best of it. -
"......your job will be what you make of it."
Ya know DSD, those nine little words in your post are probably the long and short of it - and I agree with you wholeheartedly! Sounds like your attitude is just right. Again, good luck and keep in touch!

I have mixed feelings about asking for more responses to the poll I started a few days ago. I got a few suggestions as to what might be a good place for it. They were pretty much in good humor and I appreciated that. Even so, if you'd care to vote, I'd appreciate it if you would. Thanks!

Well Oldnew,
I stepped away from the poll for a few days. JCT still has the lead, but it looks like W&S is making a rallying in the second half.
I'm just waitin' on CR England to make a come back and get 40 points over night!
lol...
yeah... right...JustSonny Thanks this. -
If you want a job pick the worst company . They only have 1,000 applications but they'll have that many quit in the next few months . -
2 Timothy 4:3,4For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Wannabes in a nutshell, huh RickG?kickin chicken Thanks this. -
