I do like your way better. At least you have the chain connected to 2 points on the unit AND 2 points on the trailer, where scottie's pic just has the chain touching 1 point on the trailer so the chain basically makes an inverted triangle... my brain is telling me if enough forward or backward pressure was applied to the unit, the whole "triangle" would want to kinda rotate, if that makes any sense.
Not gonna lie, I've had a few drinks lol. So take whatever I say with a grain or two of salt.misterG, God prefers Diesels, kylefitzy and 2 others Thank this. -
Your rocking triangle theory has merit, I believe.
It’s kinda why I dislike chaining machines where the anchor points are “inboard” of the machines, if you will, rather than the conventional method of “stretching them out”. But sometimes you gotta get creative.
These pics do make me wonder about using a single D-ring for multiple securement points. That’s another Plan B for me. That guy’s trailer in the pics absolutely needs more securement points.
And most local haulers (besides me) don’t lock the transport pin on rollers, and I think that’s a bad plan.beastr123, God prefers Diesels, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this. -

It's very common to have coils touching each other. Nothing to be concerned about.Farmtractor9900, beastr123, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this.
