Hook up a psi gauge and check pump psi
That will give you an idea on health of pump.

Hook it in line on the high pressure line out of pump to box. Buying the gauge and fittings will be expensive. Volvo shop or independent shop should have the gauge and necessary adapters. Just a thought if you suspect the pump or box.
    compare readings to specifications.

Inside reservoir. Unscrew the lid and there is a spring loaded piece push down turn 90 degrees and pull it up filter pulls right out. Takes all of 2 min to change. Should be done every 60k miles if I recall

Thanks, I found it yesterday. Actually I knew where it was and forgot. I'm going to change it and flush my fluid ASAP. I'm getting some noise from my gearbox. Hopefully it isn't too late.

I've always been really particular about PS fluid with my cars. I have no idea why I've ignored it with my truck. I guess just so many other things always needing my attention.

    jason6541 Thanks this.

Man, they are proud of them too. Trying to find an aftermarket online and not coming up with anything.
