I dont know about dispatch on dryvan side. But I do know on flatbed side its where they send you. They try to force loads on you even if you dont have hours. Wanting to claim the reason you DIDNT go get the load is because they wouldnt let you because you were out of hours. It is because you the driver flat out told em hell no. -
hey brandond are you still with them?
-
Some things I did ask the recruiter. I am prior military so I know how recruiters are. Plus I asked on here to hear from other drivers that has first hand knowledge of the company. The recruiter prolly has no clue as far as operations other than the pre written script that they read off of or told what to say...... -
I asked about a non smoking trainer and was told the trainer that came in first was the trainer I got.

Imagine that. Thats how they see it now, imagine how they see it later. Their way or no way is their way of thinking. But trust me. That will all soon change. I will contact DOT and whoever else I need to in order to get the #### they pull as far as illegal loads out of the dark and into the light. But yeah, I think if I were you I would be second guessing now if not already done. Thats the way they feel about your health, whats there is what you get. They dont give a $#(% or a shake about that, or anything else with YOU. All they care about is that truck, and really not even that. Tell em no to running illegal once and you will sit a lot. Run stupid little pissy loads. Make the least amount possible. I would run at night, deliver in the morning. Get that load I couldnt do due to hours of service, turn it down. Sit the rest of that day until sometime after 5p.m. After sleeping through my break. Then sleeping all night, waking up the next morning. Sitting all day to go pick up and run a load that night. Unable to sleep anymore because I am tired of sleeping, #### that. They are not a good company by any means. Read all my posts, you will see about how long you will last. I started this thread myself from getting word I was "accepted" to current. Which happy to say I told em I quit. Working on the legal matters and actions that must be taken to stop their b.s. -
Well I am willing to bet you money. Granted I got to go some place where I will make some first. Start making money Monday actually, luckily. But willing to bet money your recruiter has never even climbed up the steps into a truck possibly. Can say the terminal manager in Birmingham, Art has NEVER driven. He has been in trucking 30+ years and every bit of it has been in operations. You do what you want to. I would really read. I think my thread (thats right the one you are in now) is by far the most detailed thread you will find to date. I looked here to and didnt find much negative at all about the company. Let the fact that it was mainly dryvan drivers posting negative about the company deter my concern to its relevance due to the fact that I was going flatbed. Obviously though when it comes to the running illegal, its the same on both sides. Pay is worse on dryvan side, its less. Stuff like that. Feel free to read the entire thread. If you havent already. I know me, I usually dont read the entire thread, you can find usefull information though in this one alone. Hope it helps you. -
I officially now do not work for them. They sent a tow truck driver. He came and picked up the truck. Found out who I need to call tomorrow to try getting the messages sent to and from the truck during the time I was operating it to me. They got two options. A.) They forward to me upon my asking, do like they would a driver, deny deny deny that they knew what was going on, and fire proper persons responsible. or B.) Make it all the hardway, make DOT go to them and poke around not only in my paperwork they have, but everybody elses, and look at all the OBC (on board computer) messages. Them just asking, or pushing, trying to force you to take the load you dont have hours for is ILLEGAL. No ifs, no ands, no buts about it. FINE for the company. Thats just me, one driver. Imagine what will happen when they find all the rest of them. Just MIGHT make a difference. Might be a waste of time. Either way now got to fight truck abandonment. Figured I would though. Not news to me.

Do u have another gig set up? Abandonment is not good on the DAC.... I wish u the best of luck driver....b safe

Well first off, if they have the stupidity to try to claim truck abandonment, it wont stick. Trust me on that. Everything mentioned on the phone, in the recorded phone call with the terminal manager in Oklahoma City was also sent over the qualcomm. Every message sent over that computer on that truck is saved, and can be legally brought into court. Including me telling them I will return it to the terminal i recieved it (picked it up) from. Also stating that I would need a plane ticket, in order to get back from Indiana to be back here by Monday morning to go to work with the other "gig" as you call it. Not every company checks DAC. They were told it would be tomorrow before I left out to take it anywhere. I just got home at 4 this morning. Had things to take care of for the other place, and would take their truck back Friday. Them getting the God complex and assuming "what we say goes all the time" that pissy attitude, constitutes not a #### thing. Especially not under these certain circumstances that I have. Brush up on your HOS rules, whip out that D.O.T book and you will see, I have this company by the balls. One little squeeze and their all going to feel it. If there is a way to get the recorded phone call on here, I dont think the moderators would allow it. But if so, you would see just how quick he hung up once he found out it was being recorded. Again, message was sent a couple weeks ago I would record any and all phone calls from that point. When they said "oh just pick this load up and take it to Ft. Dodge IA" after I told them 3 or 4 times I did not have the hours. I had 30 minutes left to drive, and the load they wanted me to get was 140 miles away. An hour before the late pick up time, which was 17:00. So you are more than welcome to sit and think what you want. Go to work for them, can promise within 2-4 months (if you last that long dealing with their ####) you will be going through the same thing. Of course it does help that I really dont plan on going OTR ever again unless I am in my own truck, that I bought, or am financing. And if ever again it will be a small company. Less than 50 trucks. Trust me, unless you plan on running illegal, good enough to not get caught by any means. Not by reciepts, logging your fuel, not saving little reciepts for something like dinner, or a flyswatter, etc. Sure you might be able to get by with bending the rules a little bit for a while. It will get to an every load occurance. Then when you tell them you dont got the hours they try to put guilt trips on you, tell you its your fault they lost the load, etc. You will see. I dont need the luck, thats all you bra.
