They gave me a preplanned load for friday thats a 420mi run paying $2000. DH is 195mi to pickup point, I get 25% of the load. Idk if its worth it. I will sleep on it and see how i feel tomorrow.
I felt like i have been on drugs everyday i was in that truck. I'd sleep good and feel rested but after i drove for 200mi i felt like i was a zombie and drugged. I coudnt even think correctly. I was told directions by the receiver and didnt hear anything they said i was so loopy. I felt stupid but that isnt my normal self.

80 cents a mile isn’t enough ??kylefitzy, jamespmack, catchall1234 and 1 other person Thank this.

It is good money. I just feel like trash after being stuck in the truck. i thought i'd love it. I do love it, but showering, going to the bathroom and eating while running and gunning is tough. i guess i need to find my pace and keep it if that makes sense.jamespmack and cke Thank this.

You'll get used to it. Everybody that's ever started out on flatbed has gone through the same thing. After awhile you won't be so nerved up all the time which is a big part of why you're so tired.Nostalgic, jamespmack, beastr123 and 4 others Thank this.

“Back to your easy Union job” you say?
I say why would you leave that in the first place is the real question?Nostalgic, jamespmack, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
That sounds a lot like carbon monoxide poisoning. Get your exhaust checked, and in the meantime make sure your a/c is set for fresh air, and crack open a window.cke, Gearjammin' Penguin and catchall1234 Thank this.

Because my commute is around 3hrs a day round trip, i save $400 a month in gas, plus $7 a day in starbucks when i am bored hah. Plus i want to learn to flatbed, and get my own truck. I enjoy moving the freight. I feel like i'm 80 at the post office when i'm 40.jamespmack, Tug Toy and cke Thank this.

i think it is just stress. i overthink things and overanalyze stuff and stress myself out. Also i think getting used to the trucks body roll while carrying that heavy load compared mail is a part of it, if that makes sense. I was driving really really slow my first day, now i am not so worried ima roll over when the truck leans just enough i can sense it.jamespmack, Tug Toy and cke Thank this.
