Just for the record, I am not a Ham operator and never will because of the antics of a few choice operators. I could careless what the Hams think about me operating my radios, even my Connex 4300HP. I could careless what they think if I decide to switch that "Infernal" band knob to something other then D and key up and talk. "Come find Me" I say. Still waiting on that.

I have had drivers come over the radio looking for help finding something or something. I can't understand them as they sound like they are talking into a cave or some bad sounding hall. I reply"Turn the reverb off, can't understand you" They refuse so I refuse to try and comunicate with them.

I agree with poor sounding echo....I dont like it one bit. However, I have quite a few radios in my possession and half or so have echo...I run echo when I have it, and not a soul complains about not being able to understand me. I have heard my setup on a receiving radio too. The way I run it sounds clean, with just a hint of echo. It enhances the audio, does not destroy it.

Rat, I agree with you on the guys that sound like they're in a 50' length of sewer pipe! I try to get them to adjust it once...Then I just don't talk to them anymore.

I just get sick of the "ham snobs" coming on a trucker CB forum and talking to us like we're idiots! I personally couldn't care less how they do it or how important they want us to think they are...To my way of thinking they're just a bunch of radio nerds!

We're just a bunch'a truckers havin' a good time and I for one don't like the condecending tone...Get your own site if you don't like this one!

Well the thing is that I have helped some of the drivers ,that run in our fleet, adjust their Eco/reverb to get that crisp clear sound that drivers like. I keep having them turn it down till they get that sound and 99.9% of the time they come back saying that it is turned off now. Well that is were it sounds the best. Some people think that a concert hall sound is good. Well I don't know any real concert halls that actually sound good. To me it is the difference between Live music on CD and recording studio music on CD. I much perfer the studio sound.

My opinion is just a touch of echo sounds really good but anything more I can do without.

After more than 40 years I have seen a few too however I have also meet HUNDERDS of good people ......

REVERB is USELESS 99% of the time I would love to see any proof it adds to how well you can be heard.

It does not add to how well you can be heard, nor is it necessary, we established that already. Those are not the points that are being defended. The point is that it CAN sound good when set right.
