@supersnackbar we go down to the villages farmers market (brownwood) pretty regularly, it draws quite the crowd. I'm in Ocala, so it's about the same distance to there as it is to the Gainesville one I would assume, main reason we stick with Brownwood is because there's a stand down there that offers authentic Korean Kimchi, and I'm a sucker for good Kimchi!

The Villages market must be huge, that's a monster size community.
I would stay away from the 13th street Farmers Market in Gainesville. Before my wife became the manager of her market, she tried the 13th street market as a vendor and it sucked (unless you enjoy entitled hemp wearing hipsters, eco-freaks and millennials.). We're 25 or so miles north of G'ville...her market has gone from a rag-tag small insignificant market to a regional attraction that has vendors on a waiting list for a pavilion spot. During the peak season right now she has 30-40 vendors which isn't bad for a town that only has 2 redlights.

Today our Kingsport Farmers Market opens for the season and my DW will be there. She hates store produce.

Years ago I had a bad run with turtles

i owned a 78 bandit trans am and it had been lowered a little bit.
Straddled a turtle in South Georgia on a Backwoods two lane and it knocked the mufflers right off the car.

and a few months later I was in a curve and saw a turtle , oncoming traffic so I couldn’t dodge it,
The front tires must have clipped it and broke it because it went through the rear tire sidewall.
A broken turtle shell is very sharp, it sliced the sidewall but only went halfway through.

so when I show up at a tire shop with half a turtle hanging out of the tire , they all got a good laugh.

Owls are my bane. I have hit 3 in ten years. 1 before I had a CDL, and two while out on the road. The most recent one was a couple years back. It nearly came through the windshield.

I had a midair with an owl one night; totally my fault. I was in a dive bomb on a Kentuckian and he was swooping in on a rat or something and I didn’t pick him up on the radar. He called me something in owl talk, and it didn’t sound like “Sport”.

Hit my first owl a few nights ago. Bounced off the fender mirror before hitting the windshield. The mirror arm twisted around but no real damage to the truck.
