Hello,
I’m looking for a mobile reefer mechanic in eastern PA, preferably Lehigh Valley, but one from Philadelphia would do too. Just trying to find someone who is reasonably priced and knows what they are doing. All those places that do radside service I call have some crazy prices aproaching $1k just to come see and doagnose, than hard to tell if they even know how to fix anything.
Need a reefer mechanic in eastern PA - anybody knows one?

What kind of problem?
@reeferwrencherreeferwrencher Thanks this. -
Carrier unit not cooling down to set temperature. Need to be -10, it’s struggling but won’t go below 0.

Are you loaded? If so they may have loaded hot product. I had that happen a month ago.
If you have a condo sleeper drop the trailer and pull up a couple feet.
When was the last time the condenser was cleaned?
If you’re trying to get loaded and have a center chute. You can take a load lock and pinch the chute off about 2-3’ from the tail end. You may need a block of wood depending on your load locks.Jacoooooooo Thanks this. -
Check if the ball is floating in the sight glass on the receiver tank.That is a long cylindrical tank located on the curbside of the unit.If not then its low on freon and you know what's wrong with it.Possibly you could get it someone to just top up freon.I,d do it but I'm a long way from way from Philly.Good luckJacoooooooo, bzinger and 062 Thank this.

When he had a trucking company I used to have that problem. They would load off the line and expect our reefer units to "freeze" it. Went down there more than once with a laser thermometer to straighten them out.

Yes loaded unfortunately.

Something simple that I have seen more times than I can count....
wood from busted pallets clogging the drains on the front of the trailer. Condensation backs up and it will struggle to cool... 2 or 3 days to get to -10° but will maintain below freezing. It also makes the compressor work overtime and you burn more fuel.Jacoooooooo Thanks this. -
Check the intake next time your empty you may have shrink wrap in intake.
Jacoooooooo Thanks this. -
It’s unloaded. Will take it to a shop. If wnyone know’s a good mobike reefer tech in eastern PA I’m still interested to know.
Thanks everyone.
