This is very helpful guidance, y'all. Thank you. So now I'm weighing these remaining options -- slightly off-topic from the original thread, but relevant to my reason for posting, so hey --
Option 1: Hogan offered me an allegedly $90k job on their Dollar Tree account. Unloading my own freight. 5 days on, 2 off, with my dog. Assigned truck.
Option 2: XPO Logistics and Sysco have local, home daily opportunities at $23+/hr. I assume they require working my ### off, with overtime up to 70 hours a week, and God knows what kind of conditions? But the hourly rate and home daily perk sings a sweet harmony to my tune.
Option 3: I have two years dry van and reefer experience, with a few months of trainer experience. Should I branch out? Try my hand at car hauling? Oversized loads? Pilot car service?
My Goals:
1. Home 2 days/week or more. This becomes flexible around the $90k mark but doesn't bend beyond being home every other week.
Also 1. Spending time with my dog daily.
3. $75k+ incomeSirscrapntruckalot and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
Take the local sysco you'll have the opportunity to make bank 90-100k+ after you hit top pay.
Hogan is mostly bs'ing you they've always been cheap avoid themSuspect Zero, JoeyJunk, Sirscrapntruckalot and 3 others Thank this. -
When I was doing oilfield work out in ohio we had a few guys come over from Hogan and really not much positive to say. Sysco or xpo is where I'd lean on

Yeah, I had to choose between having students or this dog. Since cuddling with students might result in an uncomfortable conversation with management, I opted to let Max rescue me.

Imagine going to a dollar tree or 5 every day and what kind of BS you'd have to go through just to back in, and the people you'd have to deal with signing off on your 100s of boxes of random junk.
Umm, I'd probably rather drive a school bus full of psycho 5-12 year olds.autopaint, lester, Texas_hwy_287 and 6 others Thank this. -
I called about the school bus job. Pays $11k a year.
truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
Which, for the past year + actually pays 600 bucks a week.truckdriver31, Suspect Zero, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this.

Not in Arkansas. We're still fighting Mississippi for worst-ranked public education in the nation. Funds go to schools that do well on standardized testing, so they can keep doing better than schools where kids already lack opportunities to do well on tests. Just one of many ways systemic racism hurts us all in the big picture. Even the bus drivers. $11k a year during a pandemic.ncmickey, tlalokay and truckdriver31 Thank this.
