DO NOT MESS WITH OPEN ROAD THEY CANT HELP YOU I LEFT DRIVERS LEGAL AND WENT TO OPEN ROAD GOT A RECKLESS DRIVING AND OPEN ROAD SAID THEY CANT HELP ME BUT IF I STAYED WITH DRIVERS LEGAL THEY WOULD HAVE COVERED MY CASE SO I DONT RECOMMEND OPEN ROAD AT ALL BIG WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

Contacted an attorney who said he could probably have it dismissed for court costs of ~$90. His fee to represent me would have been $150. However, I called the city prosecutor's office, admitted I was speeding, explained that it was my first ticket and I was willing to pay the fine, but I wanted to keep the 2 points of my license so I wouldn't get in trouble at work. They let me take a $50 online defensive driving class, pay $94 in court costs and dismissed the case leaving me with a clean driving record.

Ohio DOT is behind every tree, but the flipside of that is a lot of the costs and penalties are fairly modest. I got busted pulling hazmat thru the prohibited zone in Columbus and my deal was similar to yours. Couple hundred bucks, a few emails back and forth with a Columbus attorney, and I was done. Other states might not be so accomodating.
