The toughest part of running reefer is constantly changing your sleep wake cycle. Some people can deal with it. I never could. Good luck

I team with my husband so my sleep schedule doesn't change. We do 12/12.
Now, when I ran solo linehaul my sleep didn't change much either. It is 99% terminal to terminal, drop & hook. If my load was ready at 11pm the DM's knew I left at 4 am the next morning. Unless it was a "hot load" they never had problem with me leaving at that time, but my left door stayed shut.Speed_Drums, kemosabi49 and BearDown Thank this. -
Yes.....team reefer is a different game. Solo.....not so much. I run solo dry van. Lots of 1500-2300 mile runs. I stay on a very consistent schedule. Start between 0000 and 0300. Usually shut down no later than 1300-1400. Wouldn't have it any other way.

No, that's really good information to know, actually. This is a reefer thing, eh? Good to know.

I leave mine on the side of the cross Bronx expressway. Then just walk to my apartment. It’s a win win

Idk if it’s just refeers, but I have to flip flop my sleep quite a bit. It’s gotten worse since the most recent split sleeper rules change.BearDown Thanks this.

For new people, I had to look it up, too. Thanks

A confusing explanation, and missing the fact that the shorter break no longer counts against the 14 hours anymore.BearDown Thanks this.

I never have the need to use it. Fortunately, I don't deal with screwy pick up/delivery times and long waits. I know some reefer drivers that make use of it out of necessity. One of the main causes of constantly having to flip your clock and Eff up your sleep wake cycle. God bless those of you that can do that. Not me.......Ever!
