I'm looking at an 01' FLC 120, 250,000 miles, 430/500 12.7, Jake, 12's and super 40's 4:33, full lockers, 18 speed, Alum 22.5's not sure on suspension. Truck is fairly clean for its age. My question is what price range would be considered fair for a truck like this.
2001 flc 120

There is a wholesale book out there, but I can't tell you how to get a hold of one.
It's a rare truck with the full lockers so if you want the lockers you have to consider it, it is a high priced option. -
In the $20K-$30K range?

I could see that for that truck if you have a real need for what the truck can do, it would be good for off road work and oversize work. It would work just great for what I do but that is another matter. I drive an inadequate company tractor because that is most profitable for me personally.
Look at it another way, the locker is around 10k, the 18 speed and the high rear ratio aren't that much extra cost but it makes the truck far better to use for heavy work. The engine will do the job. Don't buy it for a highway tractor pulling normal freight. It is very low mileage for that year.Last edited: Dec 9, 2009
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
I'm gonna say about $10-$12 grand, only because it has such low miles. It is 10 years old, right? The low miles don't make it worth more, it just makes it easier to sell.

I pull engineered wood products, not very heavy at all, If I could find a S/A with a locker, 13 speed, jake and 1350 ft/lb i'd buy it, but in order to get those goodies I have to look at tandems. I have an FLD 112 with a 1350 M11, but without the diff lock and the gappy 9 speed and lack of jake its not my ideal hauler.

The locking differential should be more common in a single axle truck than a tandem, look some more. If the trans is an Eaton it might be a convertible 9 speed. It would already have the auxiliary box on the back of the trans.
It will be hard to find a single axle with a 13. You will get better mileage with a single even with a gappy trans than you will with a tandem you don't need for weight carrying. That particular truck would not be good for what you do other than the full locking differentials. -
Been looking for years, S/A with diff lock is rare, I also looked into the trans, it's not convertible. I know the S/A will give superior mileage but the cost to set this truck up the way I want might be more than buying something with factory specs.

Just a thought..... Buy the truck you listed above, remove front axle, slide rear axle forward, lenthen/shorten drive shaft, remove excess frame, move fith up...... Then you still have your locker.... Did it on my pete 330 worked fine for me... Just a thought?
