Yea have a pair of those but didnt help much
They are 5 feet long but only "extend" 2-2.5 feet past the end of the ramps which puts me at 10ish feet.
12 footers + these layovers would solve all my problems loading low or long wheelbase units.
found 12 footers with a 5k per axle limit. Would work but expensive as hell... $1700 delivered.
Burn the bridge?

Yeah all of them are pricey! My son and his friend were running a 4 car and his original aluminum ramps got stolen. I was browsing the internet trying to help him find replacements. They are expensive!

I quick trip to Home Depot and you and
That broker both would have been happy.
There's something in there that would've worked.
He would have paid for it and gotten those things loaded. -
He wasn't paying enough for "special service".
He was paying $900 for that when an identical empty stock cargo van was paying $950 for the EXACT same mileage. Picked up the cargo 5 mins from that black one and would have delivered within 5 miles of drop.KANSAS TRANSIT and Western flyer Thank this. -
Just found a pair rated for 4k per axle for $1100 shipped on amazonBigBob410 Thanks this.

Like any equipment addition, are you going to actually use them, or was this an isolated deal. I think if this comes up often, it's a good idea to have them. The time you spent diddling around, probably makes this haul not worth it. I did the same with van or dump truck work. Many times, it didn't pay to "babysit" the load, trying to get legal or reload just wasn't worth it.

I have issues with all low cars that the 12 footers would solve, and my issue is not just the ramps.
The design of my trailer is flawed. The tail is too high for 8 foot ramps.
My trailer was the first made of it's design from that company. A "prototype" if you will. They changed the design to make it work since mine was built and i gave some feedback on what was needed.
My trailer is built wrong but built well. 70k miles so far on it with no mechanical, welding or any other issues.
Considering selling this by the end of the year and get a better designed trailer from them.
The time I spent on that van was not just trying to load it. They told me to come at 8am. I got there and then they said the guys are on break till 8:35.

Then when they pulled it out I pointed out some scratches on the van and he took it back in for a buff/polish for "only 5 minutes". Came back 15 minutes later and missed half the scratches I pointed out to him. I told the guy I can't wait any longer and to lets see if I would even be able to load it. Took 2 minutes to see there is no way and i left to my next load which was luckily not even 5 minutes away but still an hour wasted.KANSAS TRANSIT and 201 Thank this. -
I am thinking the broker was just pissed because he didn't do HIS homework and it backfired on him. In my mind, you did everything you should have, Broker knows your equipment, and truth be told, he was probably mad at himself be cause it sounds like he underbid it and got caught with his pants down.Hulld and 24kHotshot Thank this.

When the broker secured the contract for the load he was either totally told all the specifics of the load or had the opportunity to ask many questions to get an understanding of what the load was.
With that being said some brokers intentionally withhold pertinent information about a load hoping that you have so much time and travel invested in it that some how the carrier will figure out a way to get it loaded with out costing them any more money because they low balled the bid.
If you want to know what’s really going on have a conversation with the shipper.
Nine times out of ten they will tell you the full story of all the details they gave to the broker about the shipment and how many trucks were there and failed to load it before you.Itsbrokeagain, Doealex, KANSAS TRANSIT and 2 others Thank this.
