Your right maybe 225 isn't anything to worry about but it was definitely higher than usual for this kw.
Anyway ended up replacing the thermostats..good as new -

Water actually boils at 212*F .
15psi rad cap raises your boiling point to around 257*F inside the engine.
That temperature can do permanent damage if operated for any length of time. -

More or less trying to say it isn’t an issue till it boils in most coolant.

Your thermostats brought the temperature down to normal again?

If your shop cannot diagnose bad t stats, you need another shop.AModelCat Thanks this.

I understand how to diag t stats. Temp inlet/outlet, Boil:temp, look for wear to indicate sticking. My question is did the replacement of t stats bring the temp back to “normal”? They usually fail open causing over cooling.
