Keep the interior of your truck clean.

 

I guess I’m surprised that they check. That seems like a subjective measurement which could be used to withhold bonuses.

 

No, That is not the case. You know if your Truck is a pig sty, everybody knows. But.....there are complete slobs in this industry, everybody knows that too. There is not a formal inspection of any kind. Basically, keep your equipment presentable. Nobody has ever "Inspected" the interior of my truck. But..... I'm sure if you show up at the Company shop for service, and your truck is completely TRASHED inside, It would probably be reported.

 

That sounds reasonable. And, yes, there are some pig sty trucks out there. A clue is the dashboard having experiments growing from any space remaining amongst the clutter.

 

ltl carriers are hiring. Pay a lot more than anything mentioned on this thread

 

How do you get a service failure for having a dirty truck?

I have had the interior of my truck inspected only once by a shipper, and that was at a port where they were looking for weapons. The funny thing is that some trash was covering up an object that could have gotten me kicked out. In that case a dirty truck prevented a service failure.

 

Most are getting 2 - 3 cents a year plus other perks.
