I didn't say drive slower in the center lane. Doesn't matter how fast you drive, someone will always drive faster and complain about slower trucks.
The fast truck can get in the 3rd lane if he wants to pass everyone else.
Issues like that don't annoy me and never have. It doesn't change my paycheck by even a penny.
I couldn't care less how fast or slow someone else drives. I keep it within 5 mph of the speed limit and if other drivers don't like it, that's their mental issue.
Is this a new driver training technique?

Impeding the flow of traffic.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
The middle lane while going the posted speed limit should not be a problem for anyone.
I try to avoid moving over except to avoid slower moving merging vehicles.
The problem usually is trying to move back to the right lane because too many move to the right to pass me, even when the left lane is clear.MACK E-6, Dockbumper, Just passing by and 5 others Thank this. -
I just don't use cruise control at all unless I'm away from traffic because you never know when the thing is going to slam on the brakes on you but most of the idiots just can't help themselves because they gotta have the phone out. So i end up going around them on the right or left and then pulling in front of them sometimes too so they can pay attention and possibly have to think for a couple seconds of their lives.Studebaker Hawk, JadeLove and Truckermania Thank this. -
Well way back when I was indoctrinated with the idea that slower traffic keep right.
The center lane is nice especially when there is a lot of traffic merging, but when it's safe I generally will move over if I see someone really coming up fast behind me.
I do this because often on the turnpike the trucks are only allowed in the right two lanes and you'll see a truck in the center lane doing 55 miles an hour and a Truck in the right lane doing 54 miles an hour when the speed limit is 70. That can cause a backup that's many miles long. And the trucks are not permitted in the left lane to pass.
If they are really loaded that heavily that they can't get up to speed or for whatever reason they just choose to go slower at the very least they should get out of the way for the quicker trucks and then resume the center lane if it is safe to do so.
I often end up passing trucks in the right lane but if you really think about it if there's room for me to pass them in the right lane there's room enough for them to get over so I can pass them in the center like I'm supposed to. Slower traffic keep right.
That's just simple driving 101 and common courtesy.Brettj3876, 91B20H8, MACK E-6 and 8 others Thank this. -
I usually hang in the right lane when there's 3 lanes. Sometimes I'll have to move over to the center lane for oncoming traffic and then I get stuck there and can't get back into the right lane. If there is 4 lanes, then I'll commonly move the the 2nd most right lane to avoid incoming traffic. But, depending on how slow I'm going in relation to the other traffic, I might still hang in the right lane.

You can go ahead and play Supertrucker in the right lane if you want. Car drivers have their heads too far up their a SS es for me to sit in that hot lane in cities. And I’m not going to speed to make you happy.

Michigan passed a Law in the mid 80s. Right lane only, middle lane to pass only, left lane never, unless within 1 mile of Left Lane exit. Not many Truckdrivers follow or even know about it. Applies to Local State hwy roads also. They used to enforce it. Got Me once, because I was more than a mile past a merging Interstate. I still get over through that area. Lot of accidents through there. it’s always tough getting back over. The Law disrupts the flow. Add split speed limit. All in the name of Safety.
