Rumor has it that they want the same HOS as most of Europe...8 hours total...That's duty (loading/unloading/Pre-trip/post trip) and driving included...
How the heck will anyone make money?
You can't drive more than 440 miles in 8 hours.....Legally in Cali....

I'm a canadian driver renning in the north-east us, I heard that they were thinking of reviewing it as well. I could be completly wrong here but i heard they wanted to let us take the 10 hours in sleeper consecutive OR split sleep into 5 hours (instead of 8 and 2) as long as before and after each 5 hours does not exceed your 11/14 rule. I don't know, new driver, but i think taking 10 or splitting into two 5's would be better then the 10 and 2. My opinion. Be safe at any descicion!

The government is the key politicians that each got $5,000 or more from the Teamsters for the 2008 campaign . Forcing a review of the rules is them meeting the obligation to the Teamsters . This is just NJ http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/recips.php?id=D000000066&type=P&cycle=2008&sort=A&state=NJ but Frank Lautenberg is shown here and he is the Senator that pressured FMCSA to agree to a review before Ferro was appointed .
