News to me. Every truck I’ve owned since around 2010 has said Delo on the frame and I only have owned Cummins. :shrugs:

That is what the manufacturer of put in the engine when they built the truck it probably also says 10w30. Nothing wrong with Delo at all, it meets Cummins spec.

A lot of information here. Ill have to reread after my coffee. But the Loaded average tuning temp on this oil is around 210 to 219. According to the dash.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Are you sure that's the oil temp and not the coolant temp?

I have run VALVOLINE blue 15/40
For years now oil samples come back good. I Don’t use synthetic, my reason is even with synthetic I change my oil at 30k
With a oil sample. So not running extended drain intervals doesn’t make sense for me with only 3 trucks. That 1/4 tenth of fuel mileage gain isn’t enough for me to notice. Of course all my fluids are changed at half the recommended intervals. Clean fluids keep the trucks happy and leak free. Not to mention components last longer.

Only in the last couple years has Cummins started factory fill with VALVOLINE blue. They also recommend
Power service as the only fuel additive as well

Those stickers on the engines, are part of a marketing campaign negotiated between the two. First time I noticed it was on Detroit’s. Sticker says use Delo, I believe. Delo paid Detroit to put the stickers on. Most use Mobil Delvac.

Delvac 15-40 CK4 for the win. Change every 20K in Cummins, 30K to 35K in Detroit.

Take your Volvo and tell them you want your money back you were scammed.

Use Fleetgaurd filters, and you'll have no problems ( knock on wood ).

They used Delo 15-40 in the cement mixers when I worked at Cemex.
And nothing took a pounding like those engines did.

    No snake oil additives used.
