Flatbed, heck everything, is pretty good right now. I would do that with a new truck. Running oilfield could pay well but also can make a new truck old in a hurry.

Would you have any suggestions on good companies to run for under their authority?.

The only trucks i have seen fair well in the oilfield are peterbuilt and kw 900's. I bought the 900, and yes, still not excited about hitting those lease roads in a new 2022Coffey, Geronimo17, slow.rider and 1 other person Thank this.

Hopefully you have carpet or moving blankets to pad them tarps.

No my own info, but lots of guys I know have been happy with Mercer. All second hand info though. I got my own authority last month, and just started driving Thursday. Tough for a new guy to get decent loads, but I'll manage.
Coffey, slow.rider and Bri2893 Thank this. -
Yes Sir. Several scrap pieces of carpet. Thanks!Coffey Thanks this.

Call me old fashioned, but I knew how I was going to make a living BEFORE I bought my new truck.

Landstar has nationwide open deck freight and trailers and self dispatch, but people are saying USA Truck is where the big bucks are at.

Good luck with the 2022 W900.
You seem to have history in the oil fields. Do you think you can operate there with your own equipment and be profitable? Is there another operation where your equipment will last longer and bring in more money, before getting worn out due to oil field work?Coffey Thanks this.
