1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Well, it's the middle of December, things are slow down here for noobies !! Very few outfits are training out of florida right now. Experienced drivers have a few more options.Gainey companies, Willis Shaw, Marten, WEL, have ads today. Good Luck.

Florida is tough if your a newbe, I have a CDL-A but have not driven for 9 years and you have to have 6 months within the most recent two years before they will consider you.
So I'm in the process of re-certifying my license with TDI in Sanford FL. the cost is 6K and it's a 154 hour 3 week course so I guess it could be considered a mill but I'm just re-certifying so it will do. they have life time job placement . They work with all the companies but if your a newbe and have a spotless record there are only a couple of companies that will work with you like Western Express form what I've reading on this site they are not a good company, Covenant the same thing the list goes on Covenant & US Express will pay your tuition at a rate of $125.00 per month that will take forever to off. Good luck,

6K to refresh...no way Jose !!!!! Find a small outfit to work for......I paid like $500 for a refresher at TDI in sanford, but it was years ago. That's an outrageous price....

I gotta agree $6k for a refresher is way to much.Im looking into SAGE program, one school wants $85 an hour.Hopefully It wouldn't cost me much.
