I used carpet runners with rubber backing to protect rough edges. Buy them cheap from Cintas. New in most carpet stores. Used carpet works good also.
I'd keep several 10' long. Also insulation noodles for bolts and other rod ends.
Keeps tarps in good shape. -
Tarps? I don’t need no stinking tarps!!!
2 24x16 machine tarps
1 16x16 machine tarp
1 junky ol smoke tarp
Can cover just about anything if I can work up the motivation $$$$.Last edited: Jun 11, 2021
clausland, MTN Boomer, Banker and 6 others Thank this. -
I have 4 large pieces of felt and about 20 cardboard coener protectors. The carpet is a good idea....and I would of never thought of pool noodles....thanks -
I always try to secure over my felt padding so it doesn’t move on me. Some times I’ll even use bungies, doesn’t take much.cke and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Yes! Learned that one the hard way. Figured my tarp would just hold that stuff in place. But I had a bad side wind in Kansas, and the tarp moved around enough for the edge protection to slide off, and wrecked my 4' drops.shooter19802003, D.Tibbitt, cke and 3 others Thank this.

+1 on the industrial carpet runners, they dont move on you either, but you gotta keep em dry and cant double as strap/chain protection -
