Been with them for about 2 months and I'm not happy with the pay at all. They never told me what my exact pay would be from the beginning. I cannot believe their pay is $0.42 a mile(loaded and unload), $21 an hour load and unload. I'm just really bummed out about this. I haven't made this low pay since I started driving 2 and 1/2 years ago. And what really sucks Everybody at my terminal is awesome they feel like family.
I'm out of metro Atlanta. I have every endorsement. I wonder if I should just stick with them making crap pay in hopes of becoming an owner operator in the next 12 months, or... Try to get hired on with a different company. I really feel like I'm being taken advantage of.
Their excuse? A lot of our loads is dedicated and dedicated routes don't pay as much.

I’d be talking to yellow and roadway and some other good paying LTL linehaul companies .
in Atlanta your have access to every major company,
And some pay a lot more than othersNavigatorWife, 77fib77, ibcalm19 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I tried LTL with ryder and I absolutely hate it. I lived 45 minutes away from the terminal and they expected my butt to be back in the seat 10 hours after logging out I felt like I had no life at all. That's the only experience I have with LTL.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Just hang in there, you don't want your app. at the next co. to make you look like a job hopper, they have a lot of diff. runs that you may get after a few more mo. with them?
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I would move on the frustration will build. No need in wasting your time. I've been there before. Their pay of $.42 is way low. The money they are making off those chemicals & being cheap. If you want to continue in tankers there are other companies that pay more. Do you homework on the next company you want to run with. Ask those important questions to make sure it works for you and your family. All the best to you on your journeyNavigatorWife, 77fib77 and Irish Tweet Thank this.

Do they offer overtime?NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I always said I have never seen a happy Dana driver. They are always frowning.

If you have your x endorsement, circle k is hiring gas haulers in Atlanta.
Heniff is also looking, as is transwood.
All the above will usually accept a driver with limited experience, but you gotta have hazmat and tank endorsements.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
How do you start a job not knowing what it pays? You wanted it to be a surprise or what?
nredfor88, Gearjammin' Penguin and GoneButNotForgotten Thank this. -
I was driving for Dana (Suttles) when I retired. Made 25% of the load. $30 an hour on demurrage and got it paid on my next check, unlike when I was with QC and they wouldn't pay demurrage until they got paid. Mostly did out & backs, home at least every other day. No complaints.
Too may tanker jobs that pay good for any company not to be competitive in pay these days. If I was the OP, I would be looking around.NavigatorWife, pathfinder1361, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this.
