I can teach you a lot of things but I can never teach you experience ibcalm19.

Yes it can be done but the growing pains will hurt you & others. You will still need to be taught by someone. The responsibility & liability is great. If I were an insurance agent and you told me you have no experience. I would not write you a policy or the cost would be 1.2 million for the year. Take your time gain experience then progress to O/O

 

Best to Drive for a Company at Least one Full Year..You may find out Trucking ain't for you..

 

I never drove for a company ...but i started with pick up dually truck !

The only people who don't work for a company
Are 100 percent independents,who get their own freight.
Everybody else is a company driver one way or another.
So the answer is no.

 

I'm sorry if you are legit and I offended you. Most people that start their own trucking business started out with some form of experience. Not many people come on here all "gung-ho" without even knowing how to drive a truck! On top of that, that was your first post on this website. So I thought you were screwing with us. But anyway, my nickel's worth of advice is: HELL NO! As someone else advised, go work for a little while first. Trucking is inherently different than your average business. There are ins and outs that you need to know and experience for yourself. Now, you can say, "I'll learn from my lumps." But in trucking, those "lumps" cost you thousands of dollars. The best advice that I can give you is use the search button.

Search owner operator Authority. Search owner operator leased on. Search owner operator startup costs. Search owner operator paperwork. Search owner operator no experience. Search new owner operator new Authority insurance cost. Search owner operator failure rate. And so on.

Keep searching and keep reading because, and I mean this with no offense to you, but there is so much that you don't know it's impossible to just answer this in one writing in a post. You need to take like a few weeks and just read through all these threads maybe a few months even.

But the good news is if you take the time to research this and learn from this site, you will learn more than you ever thought just by reading.

And to answer your question it is very very difficult to just buy truck having never driven before and start out as an owner operator with your own authority.

As you begin reading you will understand why that is.
