I raised livestock thru high school....... Farrow to finish hogs and had a few cows. Worked for farmers and hunted fur at night.

Hogs got pseudo rabbis end of my junior year and sold what was left to pay the feed bill. Sold the cows to help pay for school....learned about enough in college to have a good understanding of electronics....never finished. Went three terms.

At 24 I had three kids to feed and a home to pay for....worked nights programming and running a cnc mill making one off parts.

I never had a chance back then to think about what I wanted to do....you worked to survive.

 

Ours is EACH. Sometimes 2 for $3 USD at Kroger, with a 'plus' card!! You got a heckuva deal, m'lady!! (That's it.. i'm going to splurge this weekend and buy a couple, just because.

I don't know who of y'all have Krogers' in the states, but . . . they carry what many 'regular' grocery stores, do not. Exotics, I call them. Even their meats & fish departments have some 'rare' finds. Yet, we ALL pay for what all the other 'Kroger Shoppers' buy.

Especially sucky in this, too (i agree!) (Add no starty start to this meme!!)

Holy f . my truck is turning into a rattle box. I thought peterbilt was supposed to be high quality ? To be fair it doesnt sound half as bad as the freightliners i drove with less than 250k miles on them. Spent as much time banging on the dash and yelling cuss words than i did driving .... In my pete it is not the dash but all the plastic crap in the sleeper.

 

Not familiar with the new Petercars, at all. Y'all know the gal I fell in love with.. a 'hippie chick.' Sorry. (Well, besides the wife, haha!)

 

I dunno. I just see the direction society is headed and its not a good one. We've got all these weirdos running around and all these special interest groups demanding that we all cater to them. Its just laughable at this point.

 

Yeah, gonna have to pass on that one brother. Remember the chocolate covered insects that were popular some years back? Never did partake of that either. I will admit to eating alot of bad things though because it would have been cultural taboo to turn it down. When folks offer you food, you eat it. Especially when those people can't afford to eat much themselves, yet have set aside a pretty fair amount of food for you. You eat that crap with a smile on your face!

 

It is funny in a sad way when you have fringe parts of society that are running the show. A part of society that makes up single digit numbers, yet manages to bully folks into conformity. Sad indeed.

 

To be fair, I think that is all trucks. The road conditions are just friggin horrible! I don't care what a person drives, it doesn't take long to get tore up these days. Not to mention the state of disrepair that most truck stop parking lots are in! You ever been in the back lot at the Sinclair WY stop? You can loose a truck in there!
