False reporting

Just got to be prepared to relocate to where they'll be needed the most.

 

I managed to find a rare photo of the CEO of your company. Seems like the company is run by lunatics.

Potential employers should only be concerned with what is DOT reportable or recordable and not Incidents such as those you have described.

 

That’s why when the next time you pop soneone elses mirror cover off, just pay the guy $100 from your pocket on the spot and call it a day.

While those yard incidents are minor, this one is weighing, and if it was as minor as you say you could’ve avoided having it on file.

To the point of your question, I would just try to hire on with carriers that don’t check those reports, it will be a lot of time, effort and money before, if at all, you get it corrected.

Than make sure you don’t have silly incidents with your next employer and you will be golden.

 

Some carriers have a policy if you drop a trailer for any reason you are FIRED! In this case, I suspect your 5th wheel locking clamp caught in an extreme turn and let the trailer loose. This has a tendency to happen with some 5th wheels! Most better company safety depts will give lessons on how to watch for this. This is 100% on the driver. Accept it and move on. You're still hirable!

Part of being a competent driver is taking notice of loose or improperly installed electrical pigtails and air lines, this MIGHT also be a violation if you get a DOT inspection. Still, 100% your fault, and you are still hirable!

There is NO SUCH thing as a DOT Non-reportable. It's a DOT recordable and in this case, it's not even considered by the DOT as an accident. As to where it happened that's a simple mistake that means NOTHING! You're still hirable!

HOWEVER, if you keep doing this crap you WILL NOT be hirable in short order!

 

The problem is the attitude towards these incidents. Seeing things like this as no big deal because nothing really bad happened, tells safety people that the driver is a disaster waiting to happen. Dropping a trailer while driving, ripping airlines off a trailer.... these aren't small matters. He just got lucky enough that it didn't happen on the highway.

Sure there are slimeball companies that will put him in the seat, and he'll be back one day wanting to know who will hire him after he killed someone and rolled a truck, which of course won't be his fault.

There is no false reporting going on! The data IS accurate!

 

I would be careful with that advice now days. What with cameras everywhere. The other driver can take the $100 and turn around and file a claim with the company with video evidence of the damage. Now you have an unreported wreck to deal with....

 

Like others said, you're wasting your time looking for a lawyer. There's not technically any lying going on. The incorrect location, call the safety dept and they should be able to fix it I would think. That trailer drop is going to be your biggest problem, but you're still hirable. Just stay away from the megas.
