Welcome :) I have apparently not seen you here before, but I'm not surprised, since I'm not here much myself.

It's easy to be positive when you're not faced with these choices. We're just telling it like it is, and you've seen at least a half dozen truckers and trucker's wives agree that life in a truck is a lot like that. Sometimes we're positive, but sometimes we have to take the good with the bad, and there's often a lot of bad.

We're painting a realistic portrayal of what life working for Central Refrigerated Service is like. Being on the road is not something most people are prepared for. Hell, if I had found this forum before I went driving, I probably would not have gone driving, as I had no idea what I was getting into. If the posts here tell people what to expect, then they're going to be better informed when they make that decision to change lifestyles and leave most everything they love behind. "Think positive" doesn't do that.

Smadronia, Welcome Back!! Glad to see you posting again.

For those of you who don't know, Smadronia and I share the dubious honor of being with Central the longest of anybody on this thread. I started out with Dick Simon when Central bought us and adopted me. Smadronia joined Central shortly thereafter.

John was kind enough to start this thread so that we could all keep in touch. I have met many of the helpful members in person because my farm is north of Denver, right off the interstate and near Johnson's Corner.

I'm sorry that many of you are feeling bad about trucking right now, because it started out so good!

I would get a release for your prescriptions before you go it will make your process allot easier, that's what i did. JJ

Well pan, you know you will always be my brother so your family is a little bigger than you think and thanks again for helping me navigate the back roads of OK and KS.

The purpose of my thread is to post info on our experiences in driving and our lives in general both the good and bad no sugar coating so every one knows the truth, i love to drive i love the lifestyle, what i don't love is getting screwed out of loads, miles, and hard earned money and what exists in this company exists with all companies in some shape or form. this company is still in my opinion the cheapest easiest way to get into the trucking industry but is not one to base a career on. Jess copied that description from another section of this forum and thought it would be interesting to share with the thread. we don't sugar coat anything on this thread it is the real deal nor will we sugar coat anything. i have had good times and bad times out here and it seems like more bad times as of late but it in no way takes away my love for driving or the open road. its good to be positive and i hope you stay that way but you also have to be realistic and not sugar coat because you will be doing future drivers an injustice and not giving them all the facts and sometimes those facts are not positive at all. JJRanch.
