Dayton linehaul is night driving. At my center we did not have any day runs at all, not sure if that is company wide.

The only day runs that I know of are in breakbulks (bigger hub type terminals) like Indy and Dayton exchanging freight with Southeastern Freight Lines. I'm sure there are others but in my region that's pretty much it.
At my terminal there's a driver with over 30 years of seniority and he couldn't bid on a day run if he wanted to. That's the case at pretty much every terminal.LPjunior1970, Dazejay and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
Is Dayton Freight using sleeper trucks out of any terminals to move freight farther distances?
-
Yep. Linehaul system drivers get them. They are out all week and stay in hotels. They do the same job as regular linehaul drivers do, bouncing between terminals doing drop/hooks, but are able to do runs the rest of us who are back home daily can't pull off. The sleeper is just for emergencies, though. They aren't expected to use it for their 10 hours off.dwells40 and Speed_Drums Thank this.

Bob, how many hours a week do Dayton P&D drivers get per week in Columbus.
The Akron and Cleveland terminal drivers always get treated real good.
Some get whatever they want.
45-55+ hours and no weekends unless they want extra.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
putting on another up to 8 or 9 drivers right now on pdBob Dobalina Thanks this.

That sounds about right, but I'm not in the city anymore so I don't know for sure. I do know that we have a couple of guys who are really motivated and do dock work and such who are getting close to maxing out their 60 every week.
Definitely no weekends unless you volunteer. -
I'm guessing there must be something about my app they didn't like because I haven't heard back from the local terminal, even though I just noticed they re-up'ed the Craiglist ad looking for city and linehaul drivers at that terminal, so whatever. I know LTL's can be picky about driving record and work history.

call the terminal and ask to speak to the TM.
