So I'm heading to Atlanta Jan. 12th for orientation, as I said on my previous post. But I had another question about training. Are you literally OUT otr for 6 weeks with a trainer? or do you have a break and a little hometime? Exactly how does that work?
I'm just trying to understand what to expect.
KLLM Hometime while training?

I'm going on the 30th, we're going out for 3 weeks, then a week's paid vacation, then 3 more weeks. They offered me a bonus to do it with no break, but you can't beat the paid vacation...

No that's not a bad deal, actually.

I don't know about this time of year with Christmas and all, but I stayed out for about 8 weeks total, with Orientation, my training time and my upgrade and load home. When I got my upgrade, they were short on trucks at Jackson, so I had to ride with my trainer again on a load to Chicago, and he dropped me off at the Portage Yard to get my truck. Then to get back to Louisiana, I had to get a load in Joliet and haul it to Robert, LA at the Walmart DC. Then home. It was almost 8 weeks before I got home. My trainer and I were getting so many runs from California to Illinois or Pennsylvania or Georgia, I barely even saw the Louisiana state line, much less got close to home. After my upgrade, I would occassionally go by the house for a shower, Laundry and a break, or a 34 hr reset. It depends on your trainer and what he has scheduled.RoadWarrior1775 Thanks this.

WOW! All this and a paycheck, I'd say we live in a great country.

So Does KLLM run all 48 states?

I asked the same question and RoadToad69 answered it here http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../66035-its-been-very-quiet-kllm-forum-11.html.

Yep, they drive all 48, and I ran through or to dang near every one of them in 6 months. With the exception of Montana, North Dakota, Maine and New Hampshire.JimTheHut Thanks this.
