If it's a cheap inverter that could be your problem. You need to be running a pure sign wave. And you don't need anywhere near 3000W just for a fridge.

More info about your electrical system is needed for more help.

Don't know what kind you have, but if its not made for a truck that maybe the problem. As it needs to be able to handle bumps and vibration.

Household or dorm fridges won’t handle the bumping and bouncing. Compressor not designed for it. Also more than likely
Every time you start truck it probably surges power

Need a fridge that can handle a truck environment. I have my fridge that came with trucks and they last a decade or better. Just have to research and get a pure sine wave inverter and use a good surge protector.

You could try mounting fridge on some kind of isolator to absorb some shock and vibration.

There is two problems what can kill fridge.
    1. Power interruption.
Fridge compressor motor is only 60 watt asynchronous motor. It's utilize starter devise to start spinning. If fridge compressor was pumping and power was interrupted due to engine start or other reason motor can not start spinning again because high side of the fridge is under pressure. As a result starting devise or winding will be fried.
To avoid it you can unplug your fridge before engine start, keep battery fresh and connections clean.
Or install delay relay to power fridge after power interruption. In few minutes pressure will go down and fridge can start as usual.
    2. Vibration.
Most drivers just put fridge on the floor mat and strap it down with something. This is wrong way.
Cut 3/4 inch plywood base for the fridge and bolt it to the plywood.
Drill 4 holes in plywood and attach plywood board to the cab floor with bolts with spacers protruding out of floor mat. If floor is corrugated cut spacer to fit. Board should not rock in any direction and sit firmly on all 4 points.
Make a L shape bracket to secure fridge top to the side wall. You can use good HD welcro to attach it to the fridge top.
    5 years and no problem.
PS. Some cheap Walmart fridges will stop working for whatever reason.

    Jarhed1964 and TallJoe Thank this.
