I very rarely go anywhere near Memphis but here I am. I have limited experience on routing through the area.

I’m coming up 22 west from Birmingham. I have a 10AM unload in the morning around Millington so I’m just going to take 269 around. Then I’m going to head back down the way I came towards the New Albany MS area for a pick up then headed for Wisconsin.

GPS has me going through Memphis on 78 to 240 then to 55 north rest of the way. I know even before the bridge closure that Memphis just sucks, so I imagine it’s worse now. I would be coming through around afternoon rush hour.

Would going back around 269 and up Route 51 to I-155 save me anytime to get headed towards 55 north? I’m delivering outside of Milwaukee

I would do just that. Even if it doesn't save you time, it will be safer than crossing an old bridge that has seen way too much traffic lately.
