COE vs. conventional

I've only driven 2 Cabovers. Frieghtliner and a Pete. Both for an Outlaw outfit, so these 2 were Junk trucks. 2nd shortest Job I had. Made good money though..

That is a nice looking truck, great for running the East coast with all their docks that can't accomodate conventionals!

 

Click on my avitar and you will see the first truck I bought in 1976. A 1966, 7400 White, with a 250 Cummins and 10 speed with 4.44 rears, weed burner exhaust. A real hotrod. It would run 53 MPH flat out on I-10 in Lousiana with 40K on.

I have owned and driven many cabovers. I bought an International 9700 condo cabover in 2000. Good riding and driving truck.

If my poor old arms and back could still stand it, I wouldn't mind a cabover now. But it sure is easier just walking up into the truck I drive.

This is a Mack Quantum, an Austrailian Market Truck.Their website says it can be spec'ed with a 530 ISX, pretty sweet combo, IMHO.

 

Now if they would just put a real sleeper on it. Maybe make it LH drive, I would consider it.

BC2K, I have seen those, Gotta like 'em! On the Mack website, they do have a model with a sleeper; now, it's no ICT, but it would definitely get the job done for some regional/short haul work.

 

Yep, the Conventional today is a good truck with those sleepers and big engines. But the COE can answer their back door if they add big sleepers to replace their original sleepers. And add power engines like the Detroit 8V91 engine. :smt083
