$9100 Tow Bill For Flooded Truck In Detroit

Tow companies do a lot of add-ons if there are no witnesses. They all swear they're just hard working men that are misunderstood and they would never cheat and pad a tow bill.

 

Ive seem tow bills MUCH higher than that before... Like 5 or 6 times that much.

 

Check out this reduced story of actual highway robbery! A driver of mine pulled down a alley in Massachusetts. No way out had to back out, but ran in to trouble and got stuck between two block buildings. Wedged the truck and trailer, Jack knife style. Barely tapped a building, and decided to call for help instead of make the problem worse. Anyway called out the local towing company for help. The tow driver got there and says it’s going to be Xxxx amount Because we need to drop the trailer, use the tow truck like a crane to move it. Then move the truck. Any way driver decided, no too much money. I will call someone else for help.

The tow truck driver did not like that, so he called the cops. Cops get there, and note that they are on the scene they ordered it had to be towed right now. Of course the tow driver knew that and was just waiting around for his cop buddy to force the truckdriver to get the units towed. Well now that the cop was there time was important so the tow company called out another wrecker unit to move the truck while he towed the trailer. Massachusetts was a state you had to tow individually truck and trailer.

they took their time to get it all move, they were billing out 1500 an hour per truck about 4 hours later they towed truck and trailer separately to the tow lot. $28,000 tow till and truck ran fine no clean up.
I said there is no way I am paying that Bill. I called local police to report tow company. Local police referred me to the local towing association. I called the local towing association to complain, and guess who was head of the local towing association. Yep the ####### that towed the truck. Litteral highway robbery. Truck was only worth 30,000 so no point paying bill. The towing company owns the truck after three months.

 

That same company has been gouging car owners too. Lot of complaints on the news about them. They’re complaining about $600, and $900 tow bills, now adding daily storage fees. $9100?? That’s crazy. Not surprised though. Fear the hook!!
