Tried that. Still had to have a value put in for the idle timer. I got mine set up to idle about 18 hours so it’s all good.

Something I just found interesting after reading this thread. Neither of Kenworth's or Peterbilt's websites mention Cummins as an option for any of their OTR trucks now.
stwik, Speed_Drums, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -
My understanding is the PTO option doesnt eliminate the timer, but when the PTO switch is turned on it will bypass the idle timer.
Sure if you idle for more then 18 hours you can tap the brakes once lol.Long FLD Thanks this. -
Which hood gasket are you referring to? If its the rubber strip that is basically below the windshield put a bead of caulk or sealant on that so it sticks permanently.
I had to add roughly 2 gallons or so of coolant when mine was newer ( dont recall mileage ) took it to peterbilt for a pressure test, everything was fine. My oil samples weren't showing anything internally. Peterbilt claims that its pretty standard practice to initially have to add coolant while the truck is being broke in.Concorde Thanks this. -
How much would that truck have sold for last year before everything with truck/trailer sales got crazy? What are the specs? Can you post a couple pictures?

So if you have a Pto you can’t hook it up to the factory dash switch. You have to use that factory switch to fool the truck into idling . And use another switch for your Pto

The way my truck is (which is not new, 14 with a isx) and how it was explained to me by the shop manager. You can not turn off the idle timer. If you have the pto option you can idle on fast idle set with the cruise or if you want to run on low idle you need to switch the pto on or else is will shutdown.
This was the same explanation I got when I priced out a new truck. I believe there was something about being able to idle when the ambient temp was above or below certain temps if you don't have the pto option. This was October or November when I was talking with the salesman.
Could be altogether different now I suppose. -
