The MX-11 has been targeted @ regional, LTL, and weight sensitive applications. Just not many people running them. I thought maybe UPS would run them, but their MX trucks around here are MX-13's. I know one guy that is running them in dump trucks, haven't heard much feedback. We will stick with the 13L because the 400lbs isn't worth risk at this point. They might get more folks to try them with the higher available HP/Torque ratings available. Here is highlight of changes on the EPA21 MX family. You can see they added counterweights to the crankshaft on the 13. They don't talk much about new fuel injection, but it is the Borg Warner (Delphi) latest common rail.
Overview
Our fuel injectors deliver precise and consistent fuel quantity, multiple times per firing cycle at up to 3,000 bar pressure (43,500 PSI). The F3 injectors can be specified with our unique close loop header technology which provides feedback to the ECU on injector activity for enhanced on board diagnostics without the need for additional wiring. The closed loop header also contains trim code data which it can send to the ECU, avoiding manual input operations on installation and reducing the risk of tampering.
Features / Benefits
- Beyond 1.6 million km lifetime
- High efficiency Ø1mm valve technology
- Up to 9 injection events per cycle
- Less than 0.2ms injection separation
- Available with closed loop header technology

daf said they invest 1 000 000 000 € in development.
if we look 2019 as reference, they say they have sold 53000 cf and xf trucks world wide. they said they will continiue to sell old generation paralel with new for some time. price sensitive export markets will want old model for a long time.
i guess sales of new gen will be like 50% of total production in first period - how long will daf going to sell old ones, that is big question.
koleka companies will want cheap tried version, some premium buyers will buy xg instead of their usual brands.
west eu will welcome new improved version of course without asking much about price, but big part of daf buyers are from east and they will ask often for old version.
i think daf cant just cut old generation as many customers will want it due price and well familiar vehicle.
at same time they want to pay off new investment sooner, we also have to consider that each new generation of trucks are like 30% cheaper in production due more robots, simpler assembly etc. so they will have to convince buyers to opt for new one fast.
judging by this above i think daf cant raise price for more than 3000€ for xf to stay competitive. i think market dont want to pay more than 4000€ more for longer xg cab
it was quite surprise scania left old generation for very long alongside, usually that step took much less time in scania past.
at one short period in 2019 MB produced 3 generation of trucks at same time.nevesu, spsauerland and Cat sdp Thank this. -
because this is what we have now….
And it’s better…….. -
Interesting, opposite over here. We priced similar speced tractors of Peterbilt 389 old cab vs 579 new generation cabs back in 2016. The newer generation trucks were $5,000 cheaper. We went with older style 389's. The resale and ease of maintenance is not even comparable, 389 crushes the 579.Cat sdp Thanks this.

Why did you order the truck with the small wheel pusher axle?spsauerland and 98989 Thank this.
-
Because we constantly drive with groupage loads, it's impossible to move the goods after every single drop, and this baby axle solves all the issues.
spsauerland and 98989 Thank this.
