I was asked a question I didn't know the answer to, maybe someone here has an answer.
Can you pull start a big truck?
I have done it with cars and pickups but have never seen it done on a big truck.
Has anyone done it or seen it done?

ITSec Thanks this.

works alot better if you drop the trailer on the truck being pulled..
-
done it a bunch of times. if your in a pinch without a true tow strap you can use a tire chain(not recomended but it will work) pulling truck use 1st or 2nd, truck being pulled use 6th or the first gear on the high side.
-
I don't think it will work with an auto-shift or automatic. As long as the air is up enough to release the brakes, it will work.
-
Pull start? Of course

The bumpers come off much easier if the tractor being pulled is in the lowest gear! Not that I know that from personal experience, just observed.

I had to get pushed started by a forklift once at Sunsweet in Yuba City CA. Alternator wasn't charging the batteries. Had a double set of empty flatbeds and tared about 24,500 so it wasn't to hard to get moving. Turned the key on, put it in 5th with the clutch in, got pushed, let the clutch out and put it right back down soon as it started up and was on my way soon after. Made it to Knights Landing before that 3176 Cat died and put me on the shoulder. Throttle kept cutting out, stop lights didn't work. Was probably best it quit before the DOT seen it anyway.
