I’m experiencing the Convoy ####show currently.
I’ve been running P/O for a mega, but they couldn’t accommodate me for this month with all the appointments, family events and a vacation coming up. So, I figured I’d give Convoy a shot since they were the only ones I could find with short loads that worked for me.
First few loads went without a hitch and paid quickly. Cool, let’s try a longer run. Got a load that was already late when my bid was accepted. I should have pulled the plug right then. Got the load picked up and delivered, and was supposed to bring the trailer back to Lima. But, the delivery was booked as a D/H. Dropped the trailer, but no empty available. Trailer I brought wouldn’t be unloaded until next week. I’m not sitting that long. So, I gave Convoy 24+hrs to come up with a solution. 27hrs passed, 10-15 phone calls, emails and texts later I let them know I can’t wait any longer and headed home without a trailer. Elsa was also moving through, so I wasn’t sticking around for that. I was even assured that it wasn’t a problem if the trailer had to be left at the delivery.
That was Tuesday, it’s now Friday and absolutely nothing has been done after more calls, other than them apparently thinking I’m still bringing an empty to Lima, OH. And I can’t complete the load in the app without saying I dropped the empty off.
So, I’m probably out the money for the load, fuel and a wasted week dealing with this stupidity.
A warning about CONVOY, the app...

Convoy can be great or horrible depending on the lanes you run in. From what I've seen over the last couple years, they aren't very good if you're in the Midwest or east coast. Loads from the west coast heading east pay spot market rate, and I've been using them for almost 3 years and few complaints. They tend to have much better rates for reefer drivers, which is probably why I do well with them. The customer service reps are all outsourced from other countries, but if you as for a supervisor, you get somebody in Washington State that speaks perfect English. Uber freight is the company I'd like to see gone. They are truly horrible no matter where you're booking freight to or from.

The Bottom Line is these Big 3 PL Companies are a bad thing. Big Companies controlling all the Freight. Small Independants moving it. A natural progression I suppose. They make a ton of money off Our Backs. Most of Us would be better off working for Small Brokers. Ones that need good Independents. Ones that will work with You on an Individual basis. Ones that won’t screw you over at the drop of a hat. Only one cure to your complaints. Don’t work for them. I have a list, they’re on it. Along with XPO, TQL, Coyote, and a couple others that did Me wrong. Only takes one time for Me to get the message. First time, it’s their fault. Second time it’s my Own fault. Holds true in every aspect of Life.

Absolutely true. Can't believe you held out with them for so long. I just started as a new MC, don't have my own trailer so my choices are slim but after running my butt off for Convoy I got sick, figuratively and literally. They are a "race to the bottom"! They abusive drivers and small startups to the max! Indeed they may make you look good for a few runs after you finished on time and got your first couple of meager payouts and scorecard..pfff..then they sent you to a cancelled pickup you know nothing about and all you planned ahead for a few days is now in tetters..what do you do? You probably have to cancel other pickups now since your lreviously planned schedule is now messed up, there comes your first "fall off"..points against you, as a result of what again..their cancellation! And it only hurts you! Not them. Then you bid on some alternative loads, they look decent paying..guess what...You win the bid..hey..things are looking up again, right? Wrong!..the moment you want to confirm..you find out they cancelled the route! So you're back to zero..and that happens more often than you imagine. In 2 weeks with them I've had 2 dropped loads from them with only a $150 TONU and some 3 cancelled, but "won bids"! Their cancellation rate including your "Won bids that got cancelled" is more likely in the 30% range! And there's nothing you can hold against them. I've only run for 2 weeks with them and they make me sick to my stomach already, no matter how nice they sound on the phone..this is a "Race To The Bottom Company" people. With this type of load board algorithms used we, hardworking drivers, MC's keep picking up the peanut..shells, instead of the chunk of the money. Slavery continues with these fuys. Better stay away or keep bidding high..it might change the algorhytms eventually but don't think you're going to make great money here people as all loads take one day loading, anothere unloading with travel time and resets in between..a $2000 load spread over 3 or 4 days with $ 500 fuel coming out is nothing! God forbid you have truckpayments and insurance coming out. You drive for free! Convoy loves you!

In the end of year statement $$ per loaded mile is not profitable then call it done. I always felt the were the scum of. Brokers somewhere around TQL level
